The Facebook-owned instant messaging company “WhatsApp” announce that the older generation model won’t work after Dec 31, and continuously the company declares that a bunch of the operating system isn’t supported WhatsApp.

WhatsApp support for BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone 8.0 ended on December 31, 2017. Another side Nokia S40 series phone in 2019 and older generation Android 2.3.7 smartphones and running iPhone iOS in 2020 aren’t able with WhatsApp.

According to the WhatsApp statement, “the decision was taken because we will no longer to continue to an active older version of WhatsApp and when we look of our seven years we change a great majority of software, and the future update on WhatsApp platform can’t capability to run older version devices.”

In the case of Nokia S40 series, WhatsApp will stop working on older Nokia phones models after December 31. Moreover, the Nokia devices also running on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread and also the older model after February 1, 2020, also stop working.

Also, it won’t impact too many users like 0.3 percent and of the Android smartphones which also running on Android Gingerbread platform.

As well as, some of the old iPhones model running on iOS 7 and previous version of iOS will not be able to run WhatsApp.

Beside of that Apple also provide most of iPhone devices update with iOS 7 to a higher version, in this case, you can you can update your devices to run WhatsApp.

Furthermore, many more phones are still working on WhatsApp like JioPhone, JioPhone 2 and Nokia 8110 4G.
